We have introduced a new master’s programme for students coming to London to pursue their career in the art world. Art History and Art World Practice, beginning in September 2019, will enable students to develop the historical knowledge and curatorial skills needed for successful careers in galleries, museums and the art market. Participants will study history of art, current practices of cataloguing and curating art, the relationship between art and interior design, as well as current theories of art. The object-based character of the new MA complements the existing MSc in Art, Law and Business. An essential part of our master’s programmes is the range of study trips, which enable first-hand experience of significant international centres of art world activity and art collections. All students undertake an integrated art world work placement as part of their degree.
Jane Hay, International Managing Director of Christie’s Education, commented: “As Christie’s Education is the only academic institution wholly-owned by an auction house, we provide our students with a unique and exceptional learning experience, which includes direct access to world class works of art. Almost all our London graduates gain employment within six months of completing their studies and 75% go on to work in the art world.”
Applications for MA Art History and Art World Practiceand MSc Art, Law and Business in London open today and on the 15th October for M.A Modern and Contemporary Art and the Market and Art, Law and BusinessM.A. in New York.
