Join Christie’s Education Master’s Programmes in London and New York

12 Apr 2019

Christie’s Education is accepting applications for master’s programmes in London and New York, including the new MA Art History and Art World Practice. This programme opens in September for students coming to London to develop the historical knowledge and curatorial skills needed for successful careers in galleries, museums and the art market.

“We will be looking closely at how institutions and individuals shape our understanding and appreciation of the artworks we encounter, whether in a museum, gallery, auction house or private home. We will be meeting professionals from all sectors of the art world, including Christie’s specialists, and looking long and hard at artworks themselves,” says Dr Nicholas Tromans, Programme Director, MA Art History and Art World Practice.

The mission of Christie’s Education is to provide excellent practical and academic programmes which make a real impact to the career prospects of our students. An essential part of all master’s programmes is the range of international study trips, a rigorous professional development course, as well as an integrated art world work placement at Christie’s or at another celebrated art institution.

As part of our commitment to expanding opportunities for students from all backgrounds and making learning and employment opportunities in the art world accessible to a diverse range of candidates, we offer four Christie’s Education Reginald Browne Joint Scholarships to students applying for the 2019-2020 master’s programmes in London and New York. All applications for the new scholarships will be assessed on academic ability and financial need. The application deadline for both locations is the end of April.
