Leading Artists in the Contemporary Art World on Display at Christie’s Education

25 Sep 2019

More than forty of the world’s leading artists, including Anish Kapoor, Tracey Emin and Antony Gormley, will be on display at an auction preview at Christie’s Education in London on 5 - 6 October. The artists will be coming together to donate artwork for an exclusive sale in aid of WellChild, the national charity for seriously ill children. The Helping Hands art auction will take place on 28 October at Christie’s King Street and all proceeds will go directly to WellChild.

The auction will also include photography by children and young adults supported by WellChild, aimed at shining a light on the reality of life for people living with serious health needs or disabilities. Colin Dyer, CEO of WellChild, remarked: “WellChild has an ambitious target that everyone in the UK should have access to the support they need to be able to thrive at home with their families. We are therefore overwhelmed by the interest of the art world and the artists donating their fascinating work to the WellChild Helping Hands art auction. Their contributions will enable WellChild to have a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of children and their families.”

The charity, which has HRH The Duke of Sussex as its Patron, supports the growing population of children and young people with serious health needs to be cared for at home with their families, through a national network of children’s nurses, home and garden transformation projects and family training and support services.

Christie’s Education is proud to be supporting this initiative in collaboration with WellChild and Christie’s.
