Day 1:
On the first day, we will immerse ourselves in the glory of antiquities. Our first stop is the iconic Pantheon, a marvel of ancient Roman engineering and a testament to the grandeur of the Roman Empire. From there, we will proceed to the Capitoline Museums, where a vast collection of classical sculptures, including the famous Capitoline Wolf, awaits us. After a morning of exploration, we will enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Museo Nazionale Romano at Palazzo Massimo, known for its impressive collection of ancient Roman artifacts. Here, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the intricate details of Roman frescoes, exquisite jewelry, and stunning sculptures. Immerse yourself in the ancient world as you wander through the halls of this remarkable museum.
Day 2:
We begin our second day with an exclusive, early morning visit to the Vatican Museums. You will have the museums almost to yourself as you tour the home of one of the world's most extensive art collections. You will marvel at the exquisite beauty of Michelangelo's awe-inspiring frescoes in the Sistine Chapel as well as discover the masterpieces of the Renaissance including Raphael's iconic "School of Athens." Following our visit to the Vatican Museums will be a tour of the Villa Farnesina, a stunning Renaissance villa adorned with exquisite frescoes by renowned artists such as Raphael. Lose yourself in the beauty of these masterpieces, which depict mythological scenes and reflect the artistic brilliance of the era. Afterwards, you will be treated to a delightful lunch, savoring the flavours of Italian cuisine. As an additional visit, we will make our way to the Galleria Corsini, a hidden gem of Renaissance art. Housing an impressive collection of paintings by Italian masters such as Caravaggio and Titian, this gallery is sure to captivate you with its refined elegance and offer a wonderful end to the day.
Day 3:
On the third and final day, we will explore the magnificence of the Baroque era. Our first stop is the Galleria Borghese, a splendid museum nestled within the enchanting Borghese Gardens. Here, you will encounter remarkable sculptures by Bernini and breathtaking paintings by Caravaggio and Titian. The gallery's opulent surroundings create an immersive experience that transports you to the lavish Baroque period.
Afterward, we will enjoy a leisurely lunch before visiting San Luigi dei Francesi, a small but significant church known for housing Caravaggio's renowned series of paintings depicting the life of St. Matthew. Admire the artist's mastery of light and shadow as you explore these captivating works.
To conclude our art-filled journey, we will visit the Galleria Doria Pamphilj, a grand palace-turned-museum showcasing an extraordinary collection of Baroque art.
