Overview

Recent years have seen luxury brands collaborating with celebrity artists, mega art fairs raising a city’s international profile, and HNWIs diversifying wealth into art as an asset class. The influence of art is crossing industries, from fashion and entertainment, to private banking and tech. This calls for cross-disciplinary perspectives to understanding the art industry, as well as professional approaches to art management, especially from the lens of the law.

In celebration of the opening of Christie’s new Asia headquarters, an art and luxury destination for unprecedented collecting experiences, Christie’s Education Asia Pacific is proud to present Art Management and the Law. This programme navigates the global art world by introducing legal and practical issues that impact artistic production, value creation, market transaction and collection management today.

This multi-module programme will be conducted at the world’s leading auction house, and taught by renowned art law practitioners in the Greater China region. Through lectures, conversation, case studies and workshops, the programme will explore legal, commercial and practical know-how on interacting and transacting in the art market, as well as on optimizing the management of art assets, from intellectual property rights to artist legacies and family collections.
