Overview

Who are the world's most influential giants of contemporary architecture? Who are those architects who have achieved unparalleled success, while defining and shaping the profession; those who have created the building art which comes to express our society?

Architecture: The Legends is a ten-session series that seeks to explore and outline architecture and urbanism and the way they respond to economics, politics, social reform, spirituality, and aesthetics. Design historian Daniella Ohad interviews ten legends of the architecture world, who have been instrumental in shaping its current identity. This series offers a rare, stimulating opportunity to learn how to ‘read,’ experience, and understand the discipline of architecture, and to view it as lens through which we can understand our environment and culture, and appreciate its relevance. It allows the audience to meet the heroes of contemporary architecture, to gain insight into their approaches, references, emotions, methods, and philosophies, and the way they see how architecture is shaping the world.

The participating speakers have established international profiles with their own signatures, and are known for their contributions to architecture culture. They have designed some of the world's most renowned and important projects, whether domestic, cultural, private or public. They will speak about the reality of creating architecture, discuss its historical perspective, and provide insight into the evolution of their work, career, profession, and the state of architecture today.
