Overview

Whether you are collecting for passion, intellectual enrichment, or for social and financial rewards, different collecting goals require different strategies and approaches.

The art market offers numerous collecting categories and endless art and talent, as well as a range of platforms for discovering and buying art. For beginning collectors, where and how to get started? Auction records continued to be made, while ups and downs are inevitable in a sector highlighted by speculation. Are there any established wisdom for choosing the right artists, and how to approach buying and selling?

Dina Zhang, Vice President and Senior Specialist at Christie’s Asia Pacific, will lead the discussions on these topics highly relevant to collecting contemporary art. She will be joined by experienced experts from the industry, who will offer historical perspectives into the trends in the global and Chinese contemporary art market. Together, they will offer invaluable insights into collecting art today.
