Biography

Vittoria Mastrandrea graduated in Law in 2012 and qualified as a solicitor in the United Kingdom in 2015. Pursuing her interest in the relationship between art and the law, she graduated with Distinction in the Art, Law & Business MSc at Christie’s Education in 2016. She then worked in the Art Transport department at Christie’s, dealing with the legal frameworks surrounding the restrictions on the movement of art and antiquities from the London site.

From 2018, Vittoria joined Christie’s Education in London as Lecturer in Law for the Art, Law and Business MSc. She is now undertaking PhD research in Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science, with a focus on the designation of items as UK ‘national treasures’ and the legal, philosophical and social implications of such a designation.

Vittoria is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and is a member of both the Institute of Art and Law and the Association of Critical Heritage Studies.
