Christie’s Education Presents a New Matisse to Magritte Online Course

Christie’s Education is launching a new online course Matisse to Magritte: Markets and Movements in Modern European Painting. A unique six-week online programme will introduce the artistic movements that erupted in European painting during the first half of the twentieth century. Along the way, students will meet the most important European artists, such as Picasso, Mondrian, Duchamp and Dali, amongst many others. 

Included in the course are six exclusive video interviews providing access to people working across the art world, offering an unparalleled insight into their roles, expertise, and motivations. Giovanna Bertazzoni, Christie’s Co-Chairman of Impressionist & Modern Art, talks about today’s market for modern art; Peter Johnson, Rockefeller Family Historian, looks at the early years of modern art collecting; Michelle McMullan, Christie’s Senior Specialist, discusses valuation and provenance; and Rebecca Wei, Christie’s Chairman Asia, comments on trends in collecting modern art across the Asian regions.
